RULES & REGULATIONS FOR PARTICIPANTS

1. MATERIALS PERMITTED

The Ganpati idol must be made entirely from eco-friendly and biodegradable materials, such as:

• Natural clay / mud

• Paper pulp

• Newspaper

• Natural fibres

• Cotton cloth

• Seeds

• Natural leaves

• Other biodegradable and environmentally friendly materials

2. PROHIBITED MATERIALS

The following materials are strictly prohibited:

• Plaster of Paris (POP)

• Plastic

• Thermocol

• Glitter

• Synthetic paints

• Toxic or chemical-based paints

• Plastic-based decorations

• Any other non-biodegradable materials

Violation of these requirements may lead to disqualification.

3. IDOL SIZE

The idol must be between 10 and 12 inches in height.

4. COLOURS

Participants must use natural or organic colours, such as:

• Turmeric

• Natural dyes

• Vegetable- or plant-based colours

• Safe, water-based natural colours

Synthetic, lead-based, or toxic paints are strictly prohibited.

5. ORIGINALITY

• Each idol must be completely handmade by the participant during the competition.

• Ready-made idols, moulded idols, pre-prepared idols, or partially prepared idols are not permitted.

• The design and concept must be the participant's original creation.

• Participants must complete the idol independently during the stipulated competition time.

6. TIME LIMIT

The total time allotted for the idol-making activity is 2 hours.

Participants must complete their idols within the stipulated time.

7. INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPATION

• The competition is a solo event.

• Each participant must work independently.

• Participants must compete only in their respective group/category.

• Each school may send only ONE participant/entry from each group.

• Each school must ensure that its participant's entry is properly labelled with the table number allotted.

8. PARTICIPATION CATEGORIES

GROUP 1:

Std. 8 to Std. 10

GROUP 2:

Std. 11 to Std. 12

Participation Rules:

• Individual / Solo Event

• Only ONE entry from each group per school

• Participants must compete in their respective age/category.

9. REPORTING TIME AND LATE ARRIVALS

• Participants must report at the venue on time.

• Participants reporting late may not be permitted to participate.

• The decision of the organisers regarding late reporting and participation will be final.

• Any violation of the competition rules, including the use of prohibited materials, may result in disqualification.

10. SAFETY AND CLEANLINESS

• Sharp tools and unsafe materials are not permitted.

• Participants must maintain a clean and safe workspace throughout the competition.

• Participants are responsible for keeping their allotted area clean after completing their work.

• Participants must follow all safety instructions given by the organisers and event coordinators.

11. ACCOMPANYING PERSONS

• For individual activities, participants may be accompanied by their parents/guardians.

• For group activities, each school may have one person in charge accompanying the participating group.

• Parents, guardians, teachers, or accompanying persons are not permitted to assist participants with the competition activity.

• Accompanying persons may wait at the designated area during the competition and must not interfere with the participants or judging process.

• Accompanying persons must follow the instructions of the organisers and maintain discipline at the venue.

12. PARKING

No parking facility will be available at the venue.

Participants and accompanying persons are requested to make their own travel and parking arrangements accordingly.

JUDGING CRITERIA – 100 MARKS

1. Eco-friendliness & Use of Sustainable Materials – 30 Marks

2. Creativity, Originality & Design – 20 Marks

3. Artistic Skill & Craftsmanship – 20 Marks

4. Relevance to the Theme – 20 Marks

5. Overall Appearance & Finishing – 10 Marks

TOTAL – 100 MARKS

COMPETITION FLOW & PROGRAMME SCHEDULE

1. OPENING CEREMONY

Welcome address, introduction of the competition, and briefing of participants.

2. GANPATI IDOL-MAKING SESSION

Participants will create their eco-friendly Ganpati idols within the 2-hour time limit.

3. DISPLAY & JUDGING

Completed idols will be displayed for evaluation by the judges according to the prescribed judging criteria.

4. PRIZE DISTRIBUTION & FELICITATION

• A Certificate of Participation will be presented to all participants.

• Prizes will be awarded to the winners in the respective categories.

• Special recognition may be given for outstanding creativity and innovation.

5. CLOSING CEREMONY

Vote of thanks and concluding remarks.

IMPORTANT GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

• All participants are expected to maintain discipline and decorum throughout the event.

• Participants must strictly follow the instructions given by the organisers, coordinators, and judges.

• The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any participant who violates the rules and regulations.

• The decision of the judges regarding the results will be final and binding.

• Participants and accompanying persons are requested to cooperate with the organisers to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the competition.
